Ex-Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has congratulated Arne Slot's side on their Premier League title triumph with a heart-warming post on Instagram.

The German's erstwhile team clinched their 20th English top-flight crown - and second in the Premier League era - with a breathtaking 5-1 comeback win over Tottenham Hotspur in front of the Anfield faithful on Sunday.

Liverpool's coronation came five years after they conquered the Premier League for the first time in 2019-20, but Klopp's side were forced to hoist the cup aloft in front of empty stands at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, Anfield was packed to the rafters on Sunday as Liverpool fans witnessed a Premier League title-winning moment in the stadium for the first time, and the Reds will lift the famous trophy on their own patch on the final day of the season against Crystal Palace.

During the title bedlam on Sunday, Klopp's successor Slot paid tribute to his predecessor's work at the club as he addressed the crowd, bellowing out Klopp's name in the same manner that the German did for him on the last day of the 2023-24 campaign.

Klopp hails Liverpool "past, present and future" after Premier League triumph

Now, Klopp has taken to social media to properly commemorate Liverpool's 2024-25 success, sharing two images of Reds players and staff lining up in front of the Kop with a touching caption.

"Super grateful for the past, super, super happy about the present, extremely positive about the future! Congratulations - YNWA. Thank You Luv ❤️," the 57-year-old wrote.

Klopp was not present at Anfield to witness his old employers conquer the land again, but Sir Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush were among the Reds icons in attendance as Slot's side fought back from a goal down to win the league with four games to spare.

The former Feyenoord boss is now in a league of his own as the only Dutch coach to win a Premier League title, and he is just one of five to conquer the competition in his first season in the division.

Only Antonio Conte, Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti (all Chelsea) and Manuel Pellegrini (Manchester City) previously managed that feat, and Liverpool also equalled a club scoring record that had stood for 129 years on that decisive day.

While Liverpool supporters will have to wait a little bit longer to see their side actually lift the trophy, the Reds faithful have now saved the date for their team's Premier League title parade.

On Monday, the club confirmed their plans for their victory lap, which will see players and staff board an open-top bus on Monday, May 26 for a trip through the red-clad city.

The nine-mile route will take the squad from Allerton Maze to Queens Drive, The Strand and finally Blundell Street, and the parade is expected to last between three and five hours from 2.30pm.

Before the party gets well and truly started, though, Liverpool conclude their triumphant campaign against Chelsea (May 4), Arsenal (May 11), Brighton & Hove Albion (May 19) and finally Palace (May 25).
