PSV Eindhoven are reportedly eyeing up a move for Ipswich Town attacker Jack Clarke ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Ipswich Town attacker Jack Clarke is reportedly wanted by PSV Eindhoven ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old and the Tractor Boys are heading for an immediate return to the Championship following last weekend's 2-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Portman Road.

Ipswich are languishing in 18th position in the Premier League standings, a mammoth 12 points behind Wolves in 17th, meaning that relegation appears highly likely.

Clarke - a star in the Championship for Sunderland last season - has struggled to make the step up to the top flight of English football in East Anglia.

The winger has failed to find the net across 25 Premier League appearances, although the former Tottenham Hotspur youngster has provided four assists.

Ipswich man Clarke wanted by PSV?

According to Football Insider, Ipswich Town attacker Clarke could be handed an interesting escape route from Portman Road at the end of the season.

The report claims that European powerhouses PSV are keen on securing the services of the 24-year-old winger during the upcoming summer transfer window.

It is understood that the Eredivisie club are interested in exploring the possibility of both temporary and permanent moves for the player at this stage.

The Tractor Boys are in a good position to drive a hard bargain for Clarke, who is contracted to the club until the end of the 2028-29 term.

It is believed that Kieran McKenna's men will look to recoup as much as possible of the £15m fee that they forked out for the attacker last summer.

Ipswich's Championship thinking

With an instant return to the Championship nearly confirmed, Ipswich need to start thinking about the makeup of their second-tier squad in 2025-26.

The Tractor Boys raided a number of clubs for top EFL stars last summer, meaning that they would be one of the favourites to bounce back immediately.

Clarke certainly fits into the aforementioned category, scoring 15 goals and providing four assists during the 2023-24 term for Sunderland.
