Liam Lawson has affirmed that his confidence remains intact following a more-than-challenging stint at Red Bull.

Late last year, Red Bull opted to promote Lawson over Yuki Tsunoda for the 2025 season. However, Lawson's struggles alongside Max Verstappen were so pronounced that he was replaced by Tsunoda after just two races.

Despite a noticeable performance gap to Verstappen so far, Red Bull is satisfied with Tsunoda's progress. Dr Helmut Marko confirmed that the Japanese driver will stay in the seat for the entire season.

"I'm happy with how I progressed in the last two races," Tsunoda said in Saudi Arabia. "It has gone slightly better than I thought, probably. The confidence is there. Not 100 percent perfect, but it's there."

Lawson, now driving for Racing Bulls, benefits from a car widely regarded as easier to handle, set up, and manage tyres, aiding his recovery from the Red Bull experience.

Yet, the 23-year-old insists his confidence was never shaken.

"If we're talking about confidence, nothing has changed since the start of the year," Lawson said.

"I wasn't at Red Bull Racing long enough to look back on my performance in two races and think that because of the car issues I've forgotten how to drive. Nothing of the sort. It was a very bad two weekends at Red Bull, and there were a lot of factors that contributed to that. But my confidence hasn't changed."
