The agent of a Liverpool star opens the door to a future move to Real Madrid, insisting that his client is "good enough" to play for the Spanish giants.

The agent of Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has opened the door to a surprise future move to Real Madrid.

Liverpool are already facing the prospect of losing one of their key players to Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold is widely expected to join Los Blancos on a free transfer when his contract expires this summer.

The right-back has reportedly agreed to sign a five-year deal with Real Madrid, having seemingly made the decision to end his long association with his boyhood club.

With that in mind, Liverpool will probably not be best pleased to learn that Gravenberch's agent, Jose Fortes, has admitted that he "would love" his client to play for Real Madrid in the future.

Speaking to Spanish outlet Marca, Fortes said: "He's good enough for Real Madrid. We would love for him to play for them, but Liverpool would ask for a lot of money.

"I know they've had their eye on him, but now it's impossible."

Real Madrid could look to sign a new midfielder ahead of the 2025-26 season after failing to replace Toni Kroos following his retirement last summer.

However, there does not appear to be any real suggestion that they are considering Gravenberch as a potential transfer target for the summer transfer window.

How long is left on Gravenberch's Liverpool contract?

Liverpool are certainly under no pressure to part ways with a player that they signed for just over £34m in the summer of 2023.

The Netherlands international has a long-term contract with the Merseyside club, which is set to run until June 2028.

Gravenberch experienced a difficult first season at Anfield, starting just 12 of his 26 Premier League appearances under Jurgen Klopp.

However, he has since established himself as a regular starter under Arne Slot, having dropped deeper to become a defensive midfielder.

The Dutchman has started all 31 of Liverpool's Premier League matches this season, helping the Reds establish a 11-point lead at the top of the table.
