Paris Saint-Germain won their fourth successive Ligue 1 title with six games to spare thanks to a 1-0 victory over Angers at the Parc des Princes on Saturday afternoon.

Luis Enrique's men came into gameweek 28 with a 21-point lead over second-placed Monaco in the Ligue 1 table, meaning that a draw would have been enough to confirm their status as champions.

Les Parisiens were far from their ruthless best in the French capital, but a second-half strike from Desire Doue erased any doubt and ensured that the holders would comfortably retain their crown.

Doue produced the one moment of real quality in the 55th minute, arriving at the back post to meet a brilliant cross from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and firing a crisp volley into the roof of the net.

As well as clinching a fourth straight Ligue 1 crown and a 13th French top-flight title overall, PSG remain on course to go through the entire season unbeaten, now sitting on 23 wins and five draws from 28 matches.

Enrique's men would be the first-ever side to enjoy an Invincibles campaign in Ligue 1 should they avoid defeat in their final six games, and the French champions have also completed 33% of a potential treble.

Les Parisiens now prepare to face Aston Villa in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final next Wednesday, and they will defend their Coupe de France title against Reims in the final of that competition next month.
