Real Madrid are reportedly yet to submit an offer to sign Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold in time for the Club World Cup.

Real Madrid are reportedly yet to submit an offer to get Trent Alexander-Arnold out of his Liverpool contract in time for the Club World Cup.

Earlier this month, Alexander-Arnold announced that he will leave Liverpool when his contract runs out at the end of the season.

The England international has made the decision to leave his boyhood club to join Spanish giants Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer.

As a result of his decision, Alexander-Arnold was on the receiving end of boos from some sections of the Anfield support in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Arsenal.

The right-back received a mixed of applause and boos when he was introduced as substiute, before he was the subject of jeers when he was in possession of the ball.

Real Madrid yet to make Alexander-Arnold offer

Alexander-Arnold still has two games left in his Liverpool career before his contract officially expires on June 30.

Real Madrid are keen to sign him before that date, with Los Blancos looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the Club World Cup in the USA.

However, according to Sky Sports News, Real Madrid are yet to make Liverpool an offer to sign Alexander-Arnold in time for this summer's tournament.

The report claims that the Spanish giants contacted Liverpool last Monday after Alexander-Arnold announced his imminent departure.

While the two clubs discussed the possibility of an early release, Real Madrid are yet to follow up on those talks with an official offer.

Real Madrid want Alexander-Arnold and Alonso for Club World Cup

Although they are yet to table a proposal, Real Madrid are still keen to recruit Alexander-Arnold in time to feature in the Club World Cup group stage.

Los Blancos will face Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal on June 18, before they go up against Pachuca of Mexico and Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg.

The Spanish giants are also hoping to have their new head coach in place for the tournament, with Xabi Alonso set to take over the reins from Carlo Ancelotti.

Alonso has already confirmed that he will depart Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season, while Brazil have announced that Ancelotti will leave his post as Real Madrid boss to become the national team's new head coach.
