Juventus reportedly pull out of contract talks with one of their key attackers, whom Arsenal have a 'long-standing' interest in.

Juventus have allegedly pulled out of contract talks with Dusan Vlahovic and will open the floor to bids for the Serbia international during the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old memorably snubbed Arsenal to join the Bianconeri midway through the 2021-22 season, and his time in Turin has been solid without hitting spectacular levels.

Vlahovic has contributed 14 goals and five assists from 39 matches this season, but he is on a seven-game scoring drought in Serie A, where Juventus lie fourth in the standings.

Igor Tudor's side are currently on course to qualify for the Champions League, but there is a risk that they drop out of the coveted positions in the final two gameweeks, which could force them to consider sales.

Vlahovic would be a prime candidate for the chop, as the former Fiorentina man is only under contract with the Old Lady until the end of next season, but the two parties have been discussing an extension.

However, talks have failed to yield a positive solution, and TBRFootball now claims that Juventus have made their final offer of a new contract to the Serbia international.

Juventus have supposedly been keen to slash Vlahovic's wages; according to Capology, the striker currently earns circa £314,000 a week, at least double that of any other player at the club.

The 25-year-old is not prepared to sign a new deal on a lower basic salary, though, so Juventus have given up trying to strike an agreement with his camp and will look to sell him in the upcoming window.

While Vlahovic has apparently been a 'lot happier' since Tudor replaced former manager Thiago Motta at the helm, his representatives are now trying to secure him a move elsewhere and have been in touch with several teams.

Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United have apparently been approached, as have Galatasaray, but Vlahovic is prioritising a move to the Premier League.

Why Arsenal, Man United will not move for Vlahovic

Arsenal and Manchester United are also said to be fond of Vlahovic, whom Juventus are supposedly happy to let go for a reasonable £25m this summer due to his contract situation.

However, Gunners sporting director Andrea Berta is pushing ahead with a move for Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres, and it has been claimed an agreement on personal terms is now close.

Furthermore, with Vlahovic not willing to take a hit on his £314k-a-week wages at Juve, Man United have decided that the operation is not financially viable for them either.

The Serbian striker has amassed a total of 55 goals and 14 assists from 140 matches in a Juventus jersey, although he has also suffered from two muscular injuries and a bone problem this season.
