Cadillac's upcoming Formula 1 team is already making waves in the paddock — not with lap times, but with aggressive hiring and high salaries.
Backed by American auto giant General Motors, the new outfit is set to join the grid as the eleventh team next year and aims to have around 600 staff in place ahead of the 2026 season.
One insider revealed that Cadillac is hiring at a rate of nearly one employee per day, with the team's current headcount sitting at approximately 330.
Among the recent departures from existing teams is Pete Crolla, Haas' former trackside operations manager, who has now joined Cadillac.
When asked in Barcelona about Cadillac's recruitment drive, Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu said: "I'm sure if you ask Aston Martin, they'll also tell you that.
"They're offering pretty high salaries to lure talent. But that's part of the game," he added. "I'm not complaining."
Leading the Cadillac effort is former Marussia team boss Graeme Lowdon, alongside high-profile technical hires like ex-Renault engineer Nick Chester and former F1 chief technical officer Pat Symonds.
