Renault CEO Luca de Meo has once again dismissed speculation that the French carmaker is preparing to exit Formula 1 or sell its works team, Alpine.
From the outside, the situation at Enstone has appeared increasingly unstable. The team has experienced a wave of leadership changes, controversial driver decisions, and a scrapped engine project, while former team boss Flavio Briatore has returned in a senior advisory role.
These developments have only fuelled persistent rumours that Renault may be considering withdrawing from the sport entirely — despite de Meo's repeated denials.
Speaking at the launch of the new Alpine A390 electric SUV, the 57-year-old was once more asked about Alpine's Formula 1 future by Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I want to take advantage of Gazzetta dello Sport to reiterate that we have no intention of selling the Alpine team or leaving Formula 1," he insisted.
"Competition is at the heart of Alpine's strategy," de Meo added, "and Renault has the means to tackle it.
We have a team that is working hard to achieve the results it deserves, we are honourably present at the Dakar with Dacia, we have obtained our first podiums in the World Endurance Championship, and we are continuing on this (F1) path."
