Liverpool have confirmed the arrival of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £29.5m.
The Dutchman becomes the Premier League champions' first signing of the summer window and joins just a few hours after Liverpool agreed to let Trent Alexander-Arnold join Real Madrid early in a £10m transaction.
Liverpool did not confirm the length of Frimpong's contract, but the former Manchester City man is understood to have penned a five-year agreement until the end of the 2029-30 campaign.
In his first interview with the official Liverpool website, Frimpong revealed how it was a "no-brainer" for him to join reigning Premier League champions when he heard they were after his services.
"It went quite easy. Liverpool came and said they had interest, and obviously for me it was a no-brainer," Frimpong said. "For me, it was like, 'Whatever you guys do, just get this done', [speaking to] my agents: 'Just get this done.'

"Liverpool fans, I'm going to give my all, my energy, my work-rate and hopefully we can win together, we celebrate together, get everything together. I'm just excited to be here. Thank you guys for accepting me and I won't let you guys down and I'll give you the energy that you guys want."
Frimpong failed to make the grade at Man City, but he began to find his feet at Scottish titans Celtic before blossoming into one of Europe's brightest attacking full-backs at the BayArena.
The Netherlands international directly contributed to 74 goals in 190 matches for Leverkusen - 30 of his own and 44 assists - while achieving Bundesliga invincibility under Xabi Alonso in the 2023-24 season.
Frimpong is expected to succeed Alexander-Arnold in the right-back position at Anfield, but the 24-year-old's versatility means he could also be utilised as a right-sided attacker in place of Mohamed Salah if the Egyptian is ever out injured or otherwise unavailable.
The former Leverkusen man revealed he spoke with Slot on a few occasions before his move was made official, while also detailing how the Dutchman's former Feyenoord proteges have been talking him up in the Netherlands' camp.

"I spoke to the manager a few times," Frimpong added. "He sounds very positive. He says I can bring a lot of energy and my qualities, my speed.
"Especially when a manager is talking positively about you, it gives you very good confidence that he believes in you. I've had good conversations with him. I'm really excited [to work with Arne Slot].
"Even when I was at [the] national team, some of the Feyenoord boys would tell me about him and be like, 'He's the best coach I've ever had.' Things like this. So, I've always heard good things about the coach. Now he's going to be my coach, so I'm excited for that."
Frimpong is currently set to make his unofficial Liverpool debut on July 26, when the Reds travel to Hong Kong to face AC Milan in what is currently their first scheduled pre-season friendly.
The defender's arrival could precede the capture of his teammate Florian Wirtz, whom Liverpool are now believed to have made a mammoth bid for, one that could make him their most expensive player of all time.
