Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres addresses his future amid speculation that Manchester United and Arsenal will compete to secure his services in the summer.

Viktor Gyokeres has insisted that he does not know what the future will hold for him following Sporting Lisbon's title triumph in Portugal.

Sporting won the Primeira Liga title on Saturday afternoon when they beat Vitoria de Guimaraes 2-0, with Gyokeres finding his way onto the scoresheet.

The goal was the Swedish striker's 39th in just 33 league appearances, and he has managed to net a further six times in this season's Champions League.

His form for Sporting has seen him linked with a host of clubs in the summer, and speaking to Sport TV after his side's win on the weekend, he admitted that he does not know if he will be in Portugal next term, saying: "It's football, I'm still here. I don't know what's going to happen. Nobody can predict the future."

A number of Premier League teams have been credited with an interest in Gyokeres, including Arsenal and Manchester United, who could be set to directly compete against each other for his signature.

Can United beat Arsenal to Gyokeres?

Arsenal look better positioned to offer Gyokeres chances of silverware next term, as while they have not won any trophy since 2020, they look likely to finish second for a third consecutive season.

Should the Gunners avoid suffering an injury crisis in 2025-26, it would not be surprising if they were more competitive in the title race.

Additionally, boss Mikel Arteta will be able to surround Gyokeres with star players, and the prospect of playing alongside the likes of Bukayo Saka could be tempting.

Rival Manchester United could finish as low as 17th in the Premier League this campaign, though they may be able to offer the 26-year-old Champions League football should they beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final next Wednesday.

United boss Ruben Amorim, who coached the striker at Sporting, could convince Gyokeres to join by pointing out that he knows how to get the best out of him.

However, with the Red Devils needing to add a number of players in the summer transfer window, moving to Old Trafford may entail significantly more risks for the forward.
