Real Madrid are reportedly considering Rodri, Alexis Mac Allister and Enzo Fernandez as potential Luka Modric replacements ahead of the new season.

Real Madrid have reportedly drawn up a shortlist of potential Luka Modric replacements ahead of the new season.

The veteran midfielder announced on Thursday that he would be departing the Spanish giants at the end of this term after 13 years at the club.

It is certainly a time of change at the Bernabeu, with head coach Carlo Ancelotti confirming that he is to step aside at the conclusion of 2024-25.

Los Blancos will welcome former player Xabi Alonso into the managerial hotseat, with the Spaniard enjoying plenty of success recently at Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

Real Madrid face Real Sociedad for the final match of La Liga on Saturday afternoon, before turning attentions to this summer's Club World Cup.

Real produce midfield shortlist?

According to publication AS, Real Madrid are eyeing up some serious replacements for Modric, who has won 28 club trophies since moving from Tottenham Hotspur.

Firstly, the report claims that Los Blancos are considering a swoop for Alexis Mac Allister, who helped Liverpool to the Premier League title this term.

With the Argentine having a contract at Anfield until 2028, it would take a significant fee for the Reds to wave goodbye to the midfielder this summer.

As well as Mac Allister, Real Madrid have also included Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez on a shortlist on options, although he would likely cost the La Liga giants a nine-figure sum.

Supposedly Los Blancos' main target, Balon D'Or-winning Rodri has captured the attention of Los Blancos despite his injury lay-off at Manchester City.

Modric's Madrid career in numbers

Since making the high-profile switch from North London to Spain during the summer of 2012, Modric has played on a staggering 590 occasions, scoring 43 goals.

The 39-year-old has won six Champions League titles, four La Liga crowns and five UEFA Super Cup over a glistening period with Los Blancos.

On an individual note, Modric managed to pip football gods Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to the Balon D'Or in 2018 after helping Croatia reach the semi-finals of the World Cup.
