Real Madrid injury, suspension news vs. Mallorca: Latest on Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Lucas Vazquez

Sports Mole looks at Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's La Liga clash with Mallorca.

Real Madrid will attempt to keep their faint title hopes alive for at least an extra 24 hours when they play host to Mallorca in Wednesday's La Liga clash.

Realistically, it is just a matter of time until Real Madrid give up the title to Barcelona after falling to a 4-3 defeat in El Clasico on Sunday, leaving Los Blancos seven points adrift of their rivals with just three games left to play.

Los Blancos know that a failure to beat Mallorca would gift wrap the silverware, while a win would at least keep them mathematically in the race ahead of Barcelona's away meeting with Espanyol on Thursday.

Real Madrid are searching for a third consecutive home victory after beating Athletic Bilbao and Celta Vigo in their last two outings at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their fixture with Barcelona, who are sitting in ninth place in the league table.

Vinicius Junior

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Vinicius was forced off in the closing stages of El Clasico. Real Madrid have since confirmed that he has suffered a sprain in his left ankle, which is expected to keep him out for around two weeks, meaning he could miss the rest of the season.

Lucas Vazquez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: May 24 (vs. Real Sociedad)

Real Madrid also confirmed that Vazquez has sustained a thigh injury following Sunday's loss. The 33-year-old is set to miss the next two matches, but could return for the final game of the season against Real Sociedad.

Rodrygo

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: May 14 (vs. Mallorca)

After being absent for the win against Celta Vigo, Rodrygo returned to the matchday squad for Sunday's clash with Barcelona. However, the Brazilian remained on the bench for the duration of the contest despite the fact that Real Madrid were in need of goals in the second half.

However, Ancelotti confirmed Rodrygo was still feeling the effects of the illness that kept him out of the Celta game, meaning there is doubt about his level of involvement in Wednesday's fixture.

Antonio Rudiger

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: June 18 (vs. Al-Hilal)

Rudiger has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. However, the defender would have missed the remainder of the campaign anyway, having been given a six-match ban for throwing an object towards the referee in the closing stages of last month's Copa del Rey final defeat to Barcelona. There appears to be hope that he will be fit to feature in this summer's Club World Cup.

Eduardo Camavinga

Status: Out
Type of injury: Adductor
Possible return date: Unknown

Camavinga has been absent from the last three matches with the adductor injury that he sustained in last month's win over Getafe. As a result of the injury, the France international will remain sidelined for the final three league games of the season.

David Alaba

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Alaba confirmed earlier this month that he has undergone successful surgery after suffering a torn meniscus. The defender will now be focusing on recuperating in time for the start of the 2025-26 campaign.

Dani Carvajal

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: June 18 (vs. Al-Hilal)

Carvajal has been out of action since sustaining a serious knee injury in October's home La Liga game against Villarreal. The experienced defender will not be ready to play in any of the final three league fixtures, but he is hoping to prove his fitness in time for the Club World Cup.

Eder Militao

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: June 18 (vs. Al-Hilal)

Like Carvajal, Militao has not given up hope of being available for this summer's tournament in the USA. The Brazilian is currently working on his rehabilitation from an anterior cruciate ligament injury that has kept him on the sidelines since November.

Ferland Mendy

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: June 18 (vs. Al-Hilal)

Mendy will not play again this season after sustaining a thigh injury in the Copa del Rey final. The Frenchman will do his best to recover in time for Real Madrid's first Club World Cup against Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal on June 18.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

While he may be sidelined through injury, Rudiger is currently serving his six-match ban that includes the opening La Liga game of the 2025-26 season.

Meanwhile, Aurelien Tchouameni will serve a one-match ban after collecting his fifth yellow card of the league season at the weekend.
