Manchester United are reportedly set to move for Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo if Champions League football is secured at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils suffered another sobering afternoon in the Premier League on Sunday when they lost 4-3 at the Gtech Community Stadium versus Brentford.
As a result, Ruben Amorim's side are languishing down the bottom of the top-flight standings, unable to qualify for Europa via league position.
Consequently, Man United are reliant on their current European adventure as they seek to make it back to the continental stage for next season.
The Theatre of Dreams will welcome Athletic Bilbao for the second leg of a Europa League semi-final on Thursday night, with United 3-0 up following the match at San Mames.

Man United want Barca star Araujo?
According to reports in Spain via Football365, there could be a high-profile move from La Liga to the riches of the Premier League over the summer.
The report claims that strugglers Man United are interested in securing the services of defender Araujo ahead of the 2025-26 campaign in England.
However, it is understood that the Red Devils will only make a move for the 26-year-old should they qualify for the Champions League in the coming weeks.
Araujo has played a bit-part role in Catalonia this season, starting just nine La Liga matches, scoring once and providing one assist from the backline.
As a result, the Uruguayan is open to considering a switch away from the Spanish giants, especially if his place in the pecking order under head coach Hansi Flick does not improve.

Man United's remaining fixtures
Unsurprisingly, Man United's end to the current season is set to have a major impact on whether they can lure top targets to Old Trafford during the summer.
The Red Devils have Premier League battles against West Ham United, Chelsea and Aston Villa to fulfil before the curtain closes on a woeful domestic term.
However, all focus for Amorim's men is on the Europa League in which they are two games away from glory and qualification for the Champions League.
