Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Real Betis

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday's Europa League clash with Real Betis.

Manchester United will be supremely confident of booking their place in the last eight of the Europa League when they travel to Spain to face Real Betis on Thursday.

The Red Devils bounced back from their humiliating 7-0 defeat to their bitter rivals Liverpool in the Premier League by thumping Betis 4-1 in the first leg of their last-16 meeting at Old Trafford last week.

Erik ten Hag's side were subsequently held 0-0 by Southampton on Sunday after Casemiro was shown a straight red card for the second time this season for a dangerous tackle with almost an hour of normal time remaining, with both sides squandering excellent opportunities to snatch a winner throughout the encounter.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their second leg showdown with Betis, who remained in fifth place in La Liga after drawing 1-1 against Villarreal on Sunday.

Anthony Martial

Status: Doubtful
Type of injury: Hip
Possible return date: March 19 (vs. Fulham)

Anthony Martial has not featured since scoring as a substitute against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup in early February, but the France forward is back in training after recovering from a hip issue. Given his constant issues this season, he is unlikely to be risked on Thursday.

Christian Eriksen

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: April 29 (vs. Aston Villa)

Christian Eriksen sustained a serious injury during the Red Devils' FA Cup win over Reading in January, with the Dane's season thought to be at risk of coming to a premature end. However, ten Hag has revealed that the midfielder will "definitely" play again at some point during this campaign, with a return at some point during April likely.

Donny van de Beek

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Unlike Eriksen, Donny van de Beek's season is definitely over after suffering a serious knee injury against Bournemouth in early January. The Netherlands international should be ready for the start of pre-season, but his future at Man United is surely at risk.

Marcel Sabitzer

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: March 16 (vs. Betis)

Marcel Sabitzer was unable to play a part in last Thursday's win over Betis or Sunday's draw against Southampton due to a knock, with the Bayern Munich loanee unlikely to be risked against Betis given the strength of the Red Devils' position in the tie, as well as Casemiro's incoming domestic suspension.

Alejandro Garnacho

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: March 16 (vs. Betis)

Alejandro Garnacho was substituted after being on the wrong end of a heavy tackle against Southampton on Sunday, with his manager admitting that the winger's ankle was "twisted" as a result. The 18-year-old could recover in time for Thursday's trip to the Reale Arena, but it would be a surprise to see him involved.

MANCHESTER UNITED SUSPENSION LIST

Manchester United have no players suspended for this match, with Casemiro's four-match suspension only applying to domestic matches.
