Real Madrid injury, suspension news vs. Getafe: Latest on Kylian Mbappe, Ferland Mendy

Sports Mole looks at Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's La Liga clash with Getafe.

Real Madrid will warm up for Saturday's Copa del Rey final against Barcelona with a trip across the Spanish capital for Wednesday's La Liga meeting with Getafe.

Los Blancos needed a stunning stoppage-time winner from Federico Valverde to clinch a 1-0 victory in Sunday's home clash against Athletic Club.

Having collected 69 points from 32 matches, Carlo Ancelotti's side are sitting in second position in the standings and four points adrift from leaders Barcelona with six games left to play.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the team's injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Getafe, who are sitting in 12th position after collecting 39 points from 32 matches.

Kylian Mbappe

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: April 23 (vs. Getafe)

Mbappe served a one-match suspension at the weekend, although he would have missed the game through injury after he sustained an ankle problem in last week's Champions League defeat against Arsenal. The forward remains sidelined for Wednesday's contest, but there is hope that he will be ready for Saturday's Copa del Rey final.

Ferland Mendy

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: April 23 (vs. Getafe)

Mendy has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury in the Champions League last-16 second leg against Atletico Madrid on March 12. The left-back will not be ready for the meeting with Getafe, but like Mbappe, he is looking to prove his fitness in time for the weekend.

Dani Carvajal

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Carvajal is unlikely to play again this season after he sustained a serious knee injury in October. However, he appears to be making progress in his rehabilitation and could return in time to play a part in this summer's Club World Cup in the USA.

Eder Militao

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

In contrast to Carvajal, Militao is unlikely to be ready for the Club World Cup as he continues to work on his rehabilitation from an anterior cruciate ligament injury he suffered in November's league meeting with Osasuna.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Real Madrid have no players suspended for this fixture, although Lucas Vazquez and Dani Ceballos are both one caution away from a one-match ban.
