The pick of the quarter-final ties in the Copa del Rey sees Real Madrid take on Atletico Madrid in a Madrid derby.

Real Madrid will take on Atletico Madrid in the pick of the Copa del Rey quarter-final fixtures.

The two rivals will lock horns in a Madrid derby to determine which side progresses to the semi-finals, with Carlo Ancelotti's booking their spot in the final eight due to Thursday's comeback win over Villarreal.

Atletico, meanwhile, navigated their way past Levante in the round of 16, and this competition represents their best chance of silverware this term, having been eliminated altogether from European football.

The matches, which will all be one-legged affairs, will take place next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Barcelona, meanwhile, have also been handed a difficult tie, with the Catalan outfit drawn to face Real Sociedad, who are enjoying a brilliant campaign.

The Basque outfit have won each of their last eight matches in all competitions, including victories over UD Logrones and Mallorca in the Copa del Rey.

Barcelona comfortably progressed to the quarter-finals, meanwhile, courtesy of their 5-0 win over third-tier outfit Ceuta on Thursday night.

All eight teams left in the competition play in La Liga, and there will be another fascinating contest between Valencia and Athletic Bilbao in the competition.

Valencia lost to Real Betis in last season's final, and they are the fifth-most successful side in the history of the Copa del Rey, claiming eight trophies.

Athletic, though, are the second-most successful side behind Barcelona, having won this competition on 23 occasions, four more than Real Madrid have managed.

The final fixture will see struggling Sevilla take on Osasuna, who currently sit seventh in the La Liga table.

Osasuna secured their spot in the quarter-finals of the competition by beating the holders Real Betis on penalties, while Sevilla overcame Alaves to progress to this stage.
