Head-to-head record
Previous meetings: 3
Copenhagen wins: 0
Draws: 1
Chelsea wins: 2
Chelsea have only ever faced Copenhagen in one European campaign prior to 2024-25, with the Blues getting the better of their Danish opponents in the 2010-11 edition of the Champions League.
The Londoners emerged as 2-0 victors in the round of 16, winning 2-0 away from home in the first leg in February 2011 thanks to two goals from Nicolas Anelka.
Anelka's second was a particularly impressive finish, with the striker receiving the ball at a difficult angle on the right side of the penalty area, but he struck across goal and into the side of the net.
Frank Lampard started in midfield alongside Michael Essien, while Fernando Torres was Anelka's strike partner in the forward line.
Carlo Ancelotti was in charge of Chelsea at the time, and he oversaw a 0-0 draw in the second leg in March, though the Blues boss made notable changes to the team that started the reverse fixture.
Didier Drogba came into the XI in place of Torres, while John Obi Mikel was given the nod in midfield alongside Lampard.
Ancelotti's side would advance into the quarter-finals of the competition but were knocked out by eventual finalists Manchester United after losing 3-1 on aggregate.
In the first leg of their Conference League clash on March 11, 2025, Reece James opened the scoring early in the second half for Chelsea with a brilliant strike from distance, firing his effort low into the bottom-left corner after latching onto Marc Cucurella's square ball.
Enzo Fernandez doubled the lead for the Blues just after the hour mark, but Copenhagen secured a lifeline thanks to Gabriel Pereira's late goal.
