Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a summer swoop for Bayern Munich winger Mathys Tel, who is currently on loan in North London.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich loanee Mathys Tel on a permanent deal this summer.

The 19-year-old is currently on a temporary deal in North London and featured for 10 minutes during the Europa League quarter-final against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday night.

Frankfurt went ahead in the contest early on courtesy of a strike from Hugo Ekitike, however right-back Pedro Porro equalised for Spurs soon after.

Ange Postecoglou's men now return to top-flight action on Sunday, when a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers is on the agenda in the Premier League.

After a woeful time on the domestic scene this campaign, Tottenham are sitting down in 14th spot in the league table, eight points behind Bournemouth in 10th.

Tottenham considering Tel signing?

As per German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Tottenham Hotspur are considering a permanent swoop for Tel during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The report claims that Spurs are impressed with how the Frenchman has settled into life in North London, where he could ply his trade next term.

It is understood that Tottenham want to negotiate a fresh transfer fee with Bayern Munich, despite the player having a release clause in his contract.

Postecoglou's side are supposedly unwilling to fork out £47m for Tel, with the view of bargaining for a lower sum in the summer trading point.

Tel's talents

Scoring just once in the Premier League across six appearances so far, Tel has hardly set the world alight, although the teenager has shone in different ways.

The Frenchman was the first to speak to fans in the away end at Craven Cottage following Tottenham's 2-0 defeat to Fulham before the international break.

In the early years of his career, Tel possesses the potential to become a star at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the very near future.
