Exeter have proven to be a tough team to beat in recent times, having lost just two of their previous 11 league matches (W4, D5).
The Grecians effectively ended their lingering relegation fears with a narrow 2-1 victory in Saturday's away clash against Bristol Rovers.
Caleb Watts and Reece Cole grabbed a goal apiece to guide Exeter to back-to-back away victories, making it five consecutive road trips without defeat.
Gary Caldwell's side will now return to St James Park, where they have taken just one point from three games since recording consecutive home wins over Shrewsbury Town and Mansfield Town.
Despite their recent struggles on home turf, Exeter will still fancy their chances of taking all three points from Friday's fixture, given the fact that they have won each of their last three meetings with Burton, including a 2-1 victory in December's reverse fixture.

Burton were sitting six points adrift from safety when they fell to a 2-1 home defeat against Bolton Wanderers on March 8.
However, just over a month from that defeat, the Brewers are now sitting above the dotted line on goal difference after winning three of their previous five matches.
Gary Bowyer's charges recorded wins over Shrewsbury and Leyton Orient, either side of a narrow defeat to Stockport County, before they fell to a heavy 3-0 loss in their most recent away outing against Wrexham.
However, they came out on the right side of a scoreline in last Saturday's clash against Huddersfield Town, with Rumarn Burrell netting a brace alongside a Julian Larsson effort to seal back-to-back home wins.
The Brewers will now turn their focus to Friday's fixture, with the visitors looking to claim their first head-to-head win since recording a 1-0 home win in February 2023.

Exeter are unable to call upon the services of Demetri Mitchell, Pierce Sweeney, Ryan Trevitt, Johnly Yfeko and Yanic Wildschut.
Ben Purrington is unlikely to be involved after he missed the win over Bristol Rovers with an injury that he picked up in the defeat to Stockport.
Defender Angus McDonald and midfielder Edward Francis could be given recalls if Caldwell decides to make changes for Friday's contest.
As for the visitors, Jack Armer and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson are back working on the grass, but it remains to be seen whether they will be ready for the trip to St James Park.
Midfielder Anthony Forde is a doubt after he was forced off in the first half of Saturday's dominant win over Huddersfield, while Charlie Webster will serve the second game of a four-match ban.
Ryan Sweeney has completed the concussion protocols and could now return to the matchday squad following a two-game absence.
Exeter City possible starting lineup:
Whitworth; Turns, MacDonald, Hartridge; McMillan, Cole, Francis, Niskanen; Watts, Yogane; Cox
Burton Albion possible starting lineup:
Crocombe; Godwin-Matlife, Delap, Sraha; Lofthouse, McKiernan, Chauke, Dodgson; Bennett, Larsson, Burrell
We say: Exeter City 2-1 Burton Albion
Burton may have won three of their last five matches, but they have lost three of their previous four away games, and with that in mind, we think that they will fall to a narrow defeat in Friday's fixture, especially as Exeter have won the last three head-to-head meetings.
