Thursday's Europa League predictions including Man United vs. Lyon

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Europa League fixtures, including Manchester United vs. Lyon.

Lazio vs. Bodo/Glimt (Thursday, 8.00pm)

Lazio will be looking for a big turnaround when they welcome Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt to the Stadio Olimpico in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday night.

The visitors stand on the brink of history after a 2-0 win in the first leg, as they could become the first club from Norway to reach the semi-finals of a European competition if they are able to dump out the league phase winners.

We say: Lazio 4-1 Bodo/Glimt

Bodo could write yet more headlines this week, but despite having a two-goal advantage, they often come unstuck on the road in Europe, and Lazio may just have too much class for them on their own patch.

Lazio struggled in the Arctic Circle on the plastic pitch last week, but home comforts should benefit the side that came first in the League Phase, and the Biancocelesti could write their own history if they are able to revert a two-goal deficit for the first time.

Athletic Bilbao vs. Rangers (Thursday, 8.00pm)

After playing out an eventful goalless draw in last week's first-leg, Athletic Bilbao and Rangers battle it out once again in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final at Estadio de San Mames on Thursday night.

The winners of this contest on aggregate will take on either Manchester United or Lyon in the semi-finals at the beginning of May.

We say: Athletic Bilbao 2-1 Rangers (Athletic to win 2-1 on aggregate)

Having already beaten Fenerbahce, Nice and Real Betis away from home in this season's Europa League, Rangers will back themselves to pull off another upset on the road, and will hope to pose a greater threat in the final third with 11 men rather than 10 this time around.

However, Athletic Bilbao have been perfect on home soil in Europe and they will be regarded as favourites to come out on top in the second leg, even if their Scottish counterparts are to put up another fight.

Man Utd vs. Lyon (Thursday, 8.00pm)

A week on from their action-packed 2-2 first-leg draw in France, Manchester United and Lyon lock horns once again in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

The winners of this contest on aggregate will take on either Rangers or Athletic Bilbao in the semi-finals at the beginning of May.

We say: Manchester United 3-2 Lyon A.E.T (Man United to win 5-4 on aggregate)

Man United should throw everything at Thursday's second leg in front of a fired-up Old Trafford crowd and can treat this fixture as a final considering the sheer enormity and importance of it to their season.

Lyon will feel that Amorim's struggling side are there for the taking and will be eyeing up a first-ever victory against the Red Devils. As capable as they are of achieving that, Man United have been difficult to beat in the Europa League and we feel that the hosts will somehow find a way to edge past their French counterparts, with additional time potentially required to get the job done.

Frankfurt vs. Spurs (Thursday, 8.00pm)

Eintracht Frankfurt and Tottenham Hotspur lock horns again for the return leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie at Deutsche Bank-Park on Thursday night.

The sides are level at 1-1 after the first leg in North London last midweek, but the pressure is much stronger on Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, who needs success in this competition if he is to save his job.

We say: Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Frankfurt have become experts in this competition over the past few years, winning it in 2022, and reaching the semi-finals in 2019, and they are in good form, so are well worth their favourites tag heading into the second leg.

Spurs have been dismal on the road both domestically and in Europe of late, and missed the chance to take an advantage into this return leg, so the odds are certainly stacked against them on an evening which could seal Postecoglou's fate.
