Real Madrid could allegedly make a move for Real Sociedad defender Jon Aramburu during this summer's transfer window.

Real Madrid are reportedly considering making a move for Real Sociedad defender Jon Aramburu during this summer's transfer window.

The 22-year-old has been a key player for La Real during the 2024-25 campaign, making 44 appearances in all competitions, contributing one goal and one assist, including 30 outings in the top flight of Spanish football.

Aramburu signed a contract extension with Real Sociedad in January 2025, with his contract now running until June 2030, but there is currently speculation surrounding his future in the Spanish capital.

According to Fichajes, Real Madrid have identified Aramburu as a transfer target, with Los Blancos hugely impressed by his performances for his Basque outfit during the current season.

The report claims that Aramburu's ability to play all across the back four has made him extremely attractive for Real Madrid, with the Spanish giants looking to boost their defensive options for next term.

Real Madrid 'interested in signing' Real Sociedad's Aramburu

Aramburu made his first-team debut for Real Sociedad in November 2023, and he has represented the club on 59 occasions in all competitions, while he has also been capped 13 times by Venezuela.

Although primarily a right-back, Aramburu has featured as a left-back for La Real this term, while he is capable of operating in the middle of the defence, making him an interesting squad option for Real Madrid.

Los Blancos are set to boost their defensive options this summer, with president Florentino Perez believed to be determined to add players in that area during the upcoming market.

Are Real Madrid signing Alexander-Arnold?

Real Madrid are widely expected to sign Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer this summer.

There has still not been any official confirmation when it comes to the England international's future, but the expectation is that he will make the switch to Bernabeu when his contract expires on June 30.

Dani Carvajal will also be back to fitness in time for the Club World Cup, while Lucas Vazquez could sign a new one-year contract, potentially meaning that four right-backs are at Bernabeu next term if Aramburu arrives.

That said, it would not be a surprise to see Vazquez leave on a free transfer, while Alexander-Arnold could find himself in midfield during stages of the season, so a switch for Aramburu does make sense, especially as he can also fill in at left-back when required.

Real Madrid have huge defensive issues in the latter stages of the campaign, with Carvajal, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy, David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger all unavailable for selection.
