Brentford are reportedly among three Premier League clubs that are willing to pay the release clause of Deportivo La Coruna attacker Yeremay Hernandez.

Brentford are reportedly among three Premier League clubs that have joined the race to sign Deportivo La Coruna attacker Yeremay Hernandez.

Yeremay has been in fine form for Deportivo this season, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in 30 appearances in the Spanish second tier.

The Spaniard's impressive displays led to speculation about a potential departure in the winter transfer window following interest from Chelsea owners BlueCo.

Chelsea failed with a bid in January in a deal that could have seen Yeremay join the Blues' sister club Strasbourg in France.

Last month, it was reported that Chelsea's London rivals Arsenal had emerged as a potential destination for the winger.

Brentford join Yeremay race

According to Fichajes, Brentford are one of three Premier League clubs that have joined the race to sign Yeremay from Deportivo.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City are also believed to be showing an interest in Yeremay ahead of the summer transfer window.

The report claims Brentford, Wolves and Leicester are all willing to pay the €33m (£28m) release clause in the player's Depor contract.

However, Leicester may struggle to win the race for Yeremay's signature if they fail to preserve their top-flight status.

Yeremay is understood to be happy at Deportivo, but his potential departure could help boost the Galician club's finances.

Why could Brentford target Yeremay?

While he has often played on the left flank for Depor this season, Yeremay is also capable of operating on the right.

Brentford may view Yeremay as a potential option to add further depth to their wide options ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Gustavo Nunes is still waiting to make his debut after struggling with injury in his first season at the Gtech Community Stadium.

As a result, Brentford boss Thomas Frank has been left with Bryan Mbeumo, Kevin Schade, Fabio Carvalho and Keane Lewis-Potter as his main wide options.

Not only will they want to bolster their wide options, but Brentford will also be wary that they may have to find a replacement for Mbeumo, who continues to be linked with a move away from the club.
