Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly keeping a close eye on one of Brentford's key players ahead of a potential summer move.

Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Bees will be concerned about losing two of their key attackers at the end of the season, with Mbeumo and Wissa likely to draw significant interest following their impressive form this term.

Mbeumo has racked up 15 goals in 29 Premier League appearances, leaving him in fifth place in the top-flight's scoring charts behind Chris Wood, Alexander Isak, Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah.

The Cameroon international has also contributed five Premier League assists this term, while Wissa has registered 15 goals and two assists in 30 competitive matches in 2024-25.

Arsenal, Liverpool monitoring Mbeumo

In regards to Mbeumo, Football Insider are reporting that Arsenal and Liverpool are paying close attention to the forward's performances as they weigh up a potential summer move.

The report claims that EFL Cup winners Newcastle United are also in the race, with Brentford bracing themselves for offers ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Brentford will be reluctant to part ways with one of their most prized assets, but they may have to break their current wage structure to convince him to stay with a new deal.

Mbeumo is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract, although there is an option to extend his current deal by a further year.

Do Arsenal, Liverpool need Mbeumo?

Mbeumo can play centrally if required, but his potential suitors are likely to bring him in to play in his preferred right-wing position.

With that in mind, there may be some doubt as to whether Arsenal need the 25-year-old given the fact that Bukayo Saka is their first-choice option.

However, they will still be keen to reduce their over-reliance on Saka, especially as they have seen their depth tested by his time on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Liverpool may view Mbeumo as a potential successor to Mohamed Salah, who could leave Anfield at the end of the season.

Salah is one of three Liverpool stars who are out of contract this summer, along with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

There is no indication that a new deal is imminent, meaning that there is a risk he could walk away for nothing when his contract runs out.
