Arne Slot reportedly gives the green light for Liverpool to complete the signing of a £38m-rated Premier League star this summer.

Arne Slot has reportedly given the green light for Liverpool to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez this summer.

The Reds have been quiet across the last two transfer windows, but that has not stopped them from excelling on all fronts since the appointment of Slot, whose team boast a 15-point lead at the Premier League summit, have an EFL Cup final to look forward to this weekend and are still competing in the Champions League.

Nevertheless, Liverpool are expected to delve into the summer transfer market to reinforce Slot's squad ahead of next season and the Merseysiders have been tipped to strengthen in the left-back department.

The long-term futures of Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas are believed to be uncertain, with the former entering the final year of his contract at Anfield in the summer.

Robertson has featured regularly under Slot this season, but the 30-year-old has at times faced criticism for his performances and has subsequently been rotated with Tsimikas on the left side of defence.

It is understood that one of Robertson or Tsimikas will leave Liverpool if the club brings in a new left-back, with the latter seemingly the most likely to depart at present.

Slot gives green light for Liverpool to sign Kerkez

A host of left-backs have recently been linked with a move to Anfield, including Bournemouth star Kerkez who has been a standout performer for Andoni Iraola's Champions League-chasing side.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, via GiveMeSport, Liverpool's interest in Kerkez is 'genuine and concrete', and Slot has approved a summer move for the 21-year-old.

The report adds that Kerkez could be available for a fee between €40m (£33.7m) and €45m (£38m), but Bournemouth will ultimately make a final decision on their asking price closer to the summer transfer window.

In January, Kerkez decided to switch agencies and link up with Fali Ramadani and his Lian Sports group, which suggest that the Hungary international is ready to seek pastures new.

Kerkez is attracted by the possibility of representing a club competing in the Champions League and he recently admitted that he is aiming to reach "the top level".

Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes, who moved to Anfield from Bournemouth last summer, is well aware of Kerkez, who has chipped in with two goals and five assists in 28 Premier League appearances this season.
