Reigning Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt may be a considerable distance away from Viking, but they have four games in hand over their opponents due to their recent European commitments.
Bodo/Glimt lost both legs of their Europa League semi-final tie against Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month, ending their hopes of winning a European trophy for the first time in their history.
They then saw another trophy opportunity pass them by when they fell to a surprise 1-0 defeat to second-tier Aalesund in the third round of the Norwegian Cup earlier this month, before they returned to league action with a narrow 2-1 loss against Tromso.
After suffering four consecutive defeats, Bodo/Glimt got back to winning ways with an emphatic 4-0 home win in Saturday's home league clash with Rosenborg, thanks to Kasper Hogh's early opener, Ole Didrik Blomberg's brace and Ulrik Saltnes's second-half goal.
They have now won their three home league games this season by a combined 10-0 scoreline, and they will surely fancy their chances of maintaining their 100% record at Aspmyra Stadion, having won each of their previous five competitive home matches against Viking.

After finishing in third place last season, Viking are looking to push on this season to mount a serious bid to win the Eliteserien title for the first time since 1991.
Having won seven, drawn two and lost one of their nine league matches, they currently enjoy a three-point lead over Brann, although they have played one more game than the second-placed side.
Viking will carry plenty of confidence into Wednesday's fixture after putting together a 13-game unbeaten run in all competitions since losing 3-1 to Valerenga on the opening day of the 2025 season (W11, D2).
In fact, they have won each of their previous five competitive matches, including a resounding 7-0 victory over second-tier Asane in the Norwegian Cup fourth round, and a narrow 1-0 away victory in Saturday's league meeting with Kristiansund, courtesy of Edvin Austbo's second-half effort.
After winning their last three away league games, Wednesday's visitors will hope their recent form on the road can inspire them to claim their first competitive away victory over Bodo/Glimt since October 2016.

Bodo/Glimt defender Brede Moe is a doubt for Wednesday's fixture after being absent from Saturday's matchday squad.
If Moe is unable to feature, Kjetil Knutsen could opt for consistency by naming the same lineup that started the win over Rosenborg.
Hogh will continue to lead the line for the hosts, having scored six goals in six Eliteserien appearances this season.
As for the visitors, they are unable to call upon Kristoffer Klaessson, Gianni Stensness, Nicholas D'Agostino and Martin Roseth.
Viking's managerial duo of Bjarte Lunde Aarsheim and Morten Jensen could decide to name an unchanged lineup following the narrow win over Kristiansund.
Peter Christiansen will continue to offer one of the main attacking threats, with the striker looking to add to the four league goals he has scored this season.
Bodo/Glimt possible starting lineup:
Haikin; Sjovold, Gundersen, Aleesami, Bjorkan; Evjen, Berg, Saltnes; Blomberg, Hauge, Hogh
Viking FK possible starting lineup:
Ostbo; Heggheim, Baertelsen, Falchener, Ubrancic; Svendsen, Bell, Hansen; Tripic, Austbo, Christiansen
We say: Bodo/Glimt 2-1 Viking FK
Viking may have been in fine form ahead of Wednesday's fixture, but they tend to struggle in away meetings with Bodo/Glimt, and with that in mind, we think they could fall to a narrow defeat, especially as the hosts boast a 100% home record in the Elitserien this season.
