Unsurprisingly, this has been a fixture dominated by Barcelona throughout history, with the Catalan giants winning 67 of the previous 100 meetings between the two sides, suffering just 17 defeats in the process, while there have also been 16 draws.
Laszlo Kubala is the all-time leading goalscorer in this fixture, having netted 13 times for Barcelona against Real Valladolid, while Lionel Messi is third on the list with eight goals, just behind nine-goal Julio Salinas, with Eulogio Martinez down in fourth on seven goals.
Barcelona have scored 236 goals in their 100 games with Real Valladolid, conceding 85, with the vast majority of their meetings taking place in Spain's top flight.
The Catalan giants have won 63 of their 94 league games against Real Valladolid, losing 15 and drawing 16, scoring 219 goals in the process, while they have conceded 78 times.
History certainly favours Barcelona in this clash, but Real Valladolid recorded a 3-1 victory when the two teams locked horns in May 2023, with Cyle Larin and Gonzalo Plata on the scoresheet for the hosts after Andreas Christensen had put through his own net, and Barcelona could only manage a late consolation through Robert Lewandowski.
Real Valladolid's last three wins over Barcelona have come on home soil, and they have not managed to overcome the Catalan team away from home since November 1997.
Barcelona had been on a seven-game winning run against the White and Violets before the reverse during the 2022-23 season.
Barcelona beat Real Valladolid 4-0 when the two teams locked horns at Camp Nou in August 2022, but they bettered that result in their clash at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in August 2024.
Raphinha scored a hat trick, while Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres were also on the scoresheet, as Hansi Flick's side recorded a 7-0 victory to send out a statement in the early stages of the season.
Barcelona then followed that up with a 2-1 success against Real Valladolid in the reverse game in May 2025.
