Arsenal injury, suspension news and return dates for Nottingham Forest: Lewis-Skelly, Nwaneri, Saka

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal's West Ham United post-mortem might be well underway, but the Gunners also now have a midweek encounter with Premier League surprise package Nottingham Forest to prepare for.

Mikel Arteta's side lost at home in the Premier League for the first time this season on Saturday, succumbing to a Jarrod Bowen winner in a dampening 1-0 defeat to London rivals West Ham United at the Emirates.

Their title hopes hanging by an incredibly thin thread, Arsenal were eight points behind Liverpool in the top-flight table on Saturday night, but that gap has now increased to 11 courtesy of the Reds' potentially pivotal 2-0 win over Manchester City.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the Gunners' latest injury and suspension news before their showdown with Forest, whose late comeback was in vain in an absorbing 4-3 loss to Newcastle United on Sunday.

Ethan Nwaneri

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Fatigue
Possible return date: February 26 (vs. Forest)

Injury was added to insult for Arsenal when Ethan Nwaneri limped off in the second half of the West Ham loss, but Arteta played down his concern as fatigue after the game, and he should be fine for the midweek contest.

Gabriel Jesus

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

In contrast, Gabriel Jesus is still watching on helplessly due to his ACL rupture, which might keep him out of action for the rest of the calendar year.

Bukayo Saka

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: April 1 (vs. Fulham)

Bukayo Saka continues to make steady progress in his rehabilitation from hamstring surgery, but a comeback before the March international break is still seen as incredibly unlikely.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

The injury-riddled Takehiro Tomiyasu recently went under the knife to treat a long-standing knee injury, and the Japan international is now set to miss most of 2025.

Kai Havertz

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Kai Havertz has also undergone a procedure to correct a torn hamstring, and Arsenal will be without their top scorer for the rest of the campaign.

Gabriel Martinelli

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: March 9 (vs. Manchester United)

Gabriel Martinelli is expected to be the next cab off the rank in terms of Arsenal's long-term victims, but it will still be another couple of weeks before the Brazilian's hamstring injury is fully healed.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Myles Lewis-Skelly

Return date: March 4 (vs. PSV Eindhoven)

Myles Lewis-Skelly was sent off for the second time in the 2024-25 Premier League season against West Ham, having denied Mohammed Kudus a clear goalscoring opportunity, and the Englishman serves a one-match ban in midweek.
