Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly send scouts to assess the capabilities of a Brazilian starlet who is owned by a club they conducted business with in 2024.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly identified another Brazilian youngster as a potential transfer target.

The West Midlands outfit have made a habit of recruiting Brazilian players in recent years, whether that be full internationals or players with promise.

As it stands, Andre, Joao Gomes and Matheus Cunha are all representing their nation at senior level having advanced their careers at Molineux.

Meanwhile, Pedro Lima was acquired from Sport Recife last summer with the promise of earning regular game time at Wolves in the long term.

According to Vozes do Gigante, Wolves are seemingly looking to reignite their relationship with Sport Recife to sign another of their starlets.

Gabriel on Wolves radar?

The report alleges that Wolves have sent scouts to assess defender Victor Gabriel, who is currently on loan at Internacional.

Although the 20-year-old is contracted to Sport Recife, he is currently at Internacional on a deal that runs from April last year to the end of 2025.

As such, it is reported that Internacional are eager to sign him permanently later this year, as shown by 12 senior outings having come in this year's Campeonato Gaucho.

Internacional won that competition, beating Gremio in the two-legged final, and the fact that Gabriel started every game in central defence suggests that he could soon be in line for appearances in Brasileiro squads.

Given they have the option to sign Gabriel on a permanent basis, it appears likely at this stage that Internacional will exercise that opportunity, unless Wolves look to involve themselves with a higher offer.

Wolves looking to use Brazilian influence?

When Lima arrived last July, he shunned a move to Chelsea, a decision aided by the influence of Cunha who is from the same city as the starlet.

Brazilian players, who are joined in the Wolves squad by a number of Portuguese players who speak the same language, are all happy and settled at Wolves which club officials must know helps their efforts to sign fresh faces.

However, regardless of whether Wolves remain in the Premier League or not, they will be anticipating offers for Andre, Gomes and Cunha during the summer.

Therefore, it may make sense for the club to use their Brazilian influence while they can if they want to remain as such an attractive option.
