Wolverhampton Wanderers are allegedly planning to make a €6m (£5.1m) offer for a Palmeiras youngster during the summer transfer window.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly identified Palmeiras youngster Riquelme Fillipi as a summer transfer target.

The West Midlands outfit are currently focused on retaining their status as a Premier League side, with the gap to 18th place being six points at this stage.

However, providing that Wolves can extend their stay in England's top flight, there will be plans in the summer to move the club back towards the mid-table positions at the very least.

With several key players expected to receive widespread interest, it could prove to be a busy summer transfer window for Vitor Pereira and the club's recruitment team.

As per Nosso Palestra, there is already an intention to delve back into the South American market.

Palmeiras prospect targeted

The report alleges that Wolves intend to make an approach for Fillipi on the back of the 18-year-old's performances for Palmeiras' second-string side.

Fillipi, a versatile attacker, has already contributed 19 goals and three assists from his 43 appearances for the Under-20s, with 11 strikes incredibly coming from nine outings in the Copinha and U20 Libertadores in 2025.

While Fillipi is yet to make a senior appearance, the fact that he holds a contract until March 2028 highlights the faith that Palmeiras have in the player.

First-team game time could materialise over the coming months at a time when Wolves are already said to be planning a €6m (£5.1m) offer.

Given his position and attributes, Palmeiras may currently view Fillipi as a like-for-like alternative to Estevao Willian when the Brazil international moves to Chelsea in July.

Brazilian influence key?

On the back of that deal and the sale of Vitor Reis to Manchester City, Palmeiras are in a position where they do not have to sell any more of their most highly-regarded youngsters.

That could result in Wolves struggling to negotiate terms, but the player could be tempted to move to Molineux courtesy of their Brazilian contingent.

As well as established internationals in Andre, Joao Gomes and Matheus Cunha, Wolves acquired teenage right-back Pedro Lima last summer and may plan to use him on a regular basis in 2025-26.
