Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how West Ham United could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

West Ham United head coach Graham Potter could give consideration to a formation change when the Irons host Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday's Premier League London derby.

The Irons threw away all three points against Brighton & Hove Albion in gut-wrenching fashion last weekend, having led 2-1 in the 88th minute only to concede two late goals in a 3-2 loss.

Potter opted for a 3-5-2 shape from the start against Fabian Hurzeler's side, although he quickly changed tack at half time, bringing Niclas Fullkrug off the bench in place of James Ward-Prowse.

Sunday's hosts should not hesitate to go for the jugular against a distracted and injury-hit Tottenham side, so Fullkrug could very well join Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus in the final third for this one.

Ward-Prowse's spot is at risk from Edson Alvarez, who is expected to return from a back injury in time for Sunday's game to partner Tomas Soucek, whose eighth goal of the season last weekend was in vain.

A switch from a 3-5-2 to a 4-2-3-1 shape would force Potter to sacrifice a defender, and ex-Arsenal man Dinos Mavropanos may be the unfortunate soul as Jean-Clair Todibo, Max Kilman, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Emerson Palmieri protect Alphonse Areola.

Michail Antonio (leg) and Crysencio Summerville (hamstring) are out for the season, but Evan Ferguson is back after being ineligible to face his parent club last weekend.

West Ham United possible starting lineup:
Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Emerson; Soucek, Alvarez; Bowen, Paqueta, Kudus; Fullkrug
