Chelsea and Napoli could allegedly go head-to-head for the signature of Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho this summer.

Chelsea and Napoli are reportedly preparing to go head-to-head for the signature of Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho during this summer's transfer window.

The 20-year-old has again been an important player for the Red Devils during the 2024-25 campaign, featuring on 51 occasions in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and registering nine assists in the process.

There remain question marks surrounding his suitability for a Ruben Amorim team, though, with the Portuguese playing a 3-4-3 system at Man United, and that will again be the case during the 2025-26 campaign.

Garnacho's future was the subject of much speculation during the January window, with Napoli having at least one offer for the forward rejected, while Chelsea are also believed to have considered signing him.

According to Fichajes, Napoli and Chelsea are preparing to battle for the attacker's signature this summer, with Man United making it clear that they are prepared to sell him for the right price.

Chelsea, Napoli 'to battle' for Garnacho signature

The Red Devils are thought to be willing to sell Garnacho for as little as £32m during the summer window, with any sale counting as pure profit under the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability rules.

Man United are not believed to be actively looking to move Garnacho on, but the club are expecting interest, and it will be difficult to down sizeable offers for him during the summer transfer window.

Garnacho's best work comes as a wide forward, but that is no longer a position that exists in the Red Devils side, with the youngster instead being asked to feature as a number 10, and it has been a challenge for him to get to grips with the role.

The forward made the move to Old Trafford from Atletico Madrid in October 2020, and he has turned out for Man United on 137 occasions in all competitions, scoring 25 goals and registering 21 assists in the process.

Should Man United sell Garnacho this summer?

Garnacho is one of Man United's most productive forwards, and it would certainly be controversial if he left this summer considering his quality and potential to improve in the coming years.

However, Amorim needs to be given the chance to bring in players for his system, and if a sizeable offer arrives for the forward during the upcoming market, then it should be seriously considered.

Man United are believed to currently be working on deals for Wolverhampton Wanderers' Matheus Cunha and Ipswich Town's Liam Delap, while Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze and Villarreal's Alex Baena are also believed to be of interest to the club.
