Manchester United are reportedly set to meet with Wolverhampton Wanderers next week to discuss Matheus Cunha, with the Red Devils said to be "optimistic" of signing the Brazilian this summer.
The 25-year-old is believed to be Man United's leading target for the upcoming market, with head coach Ruben Amorim a known admirer of the Brazil international, who would bring pace and power to the Red Devils attack.
Cunha has scored 16 times and registered four assists in 31 appearances for Wolves this season, while he has 32 goals and 13 assists in 87 outings in total for the Premier League club.
The forward signed a new contract at Molineux at the start of February amid interest from Arsenal, but there is a £62.5m release clause in his deal, which Man United are thought to be prepared to trigger with staggered payments.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, there is not yet an agreement in place for Cunha to move to Man United, but a meeting next week could be key when it comes to a proposed summer deal.

Man United 'pushing' to sign Cunha from Wolves
"Nothing done yet between Manchester United and Cunha. Brazilian wants the move, and MUFC optimistic. However, financials haven't been agreed, or even discussed yet. Key meeting likely next week. United trying to do Cunha and Delap early, and able to fund both, before outgoings," read a post from Jacobs on X.
Man United are also said to be determined to bring in Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, with the Englishman believed to be the club's leading forward target despite links with Napoli's Victor Osimhen.
Delap will have a £30m release clause in his contract once Ipswich's relegation is confirmed, and Man United are said to be at the head of a queue which also includes Premier League rivals Chelsea.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Cunha is hopeful that a switch to Old Trafford will go through, with the South American wanting the move even if the Red Devils fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Amorim picked out Cunha ahead of Wolves clash
Man United head coach Amorim picked out Cunha when asked about Wolves ahead of the Premier League clash between the two sides last Sunday, and the Brazilian then went on to help his side record a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford.
"He (Wolves manager Vitor Pereira)'s playing a 3-4-3, he's doing quite well. He's changing some players, he has real quality players - Cunha and all these guys, they have real quality," said Amorim.
When asked about the alleged interest in Cunha, Amorim replied: "I just gave the example because I remembered about Matheus. He's scoring a lot of goals. Just that."
Amorim allegedly views Cunha as the perfect player to operate as one of the number 10s in his 3-4-3 formation, with Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze potentially arriving to feature on the opposite side.
