Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya edges out stiff competition to win the Premier League Goalkeeper of the Season prize in the 2024-25 Sports Mole Readers' Awards.

Arsenal number one David Raya has come up trumps in a tight vote to be named the Premier League's Goalkeeper of the Season in the 2024-25 Sports Mole Readers' Awards.

The Gunners number one defended 50% of his Golden Glove prize from the 2023-24 season with 13 clean sheets, sharing this year's trophy with Nottingham Forest's Matz Sels.

Raya also registered the third-highest save percentage of any goalkeeper in the league as Arsenal finished second for the third year running, but there was no clear winner in the Goalkeeper of the Season vote.

Nevertheless, the former Brentford man has claimed the honour with 35.5% of the share, edging out Liverpool title-winner Alisson Becker, who was a close second with 28.2% of the vote.

Forest's Sels was third with 21.9% of the nominations after helping the Tricky Trees qualify for Europe for the first time in 30 years, while Crystal Palace's Dean Henderson and Everton's Jordan Pickford completed the voting.

Raya beating Alisson ends Liverpool's 100% streak in this year's awards so far, after Mohamed Salah and Arne Slot comfortably won the Player of the Season and Manager of the Season accolades respectively.
