McLaren driver Lando Norris has boosted his Formula 1 title chances with victory in Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix.

Having not won since the opening race of the campaign, the Briton needed a performance to up the pressure on teammate and Championship leader Oscar Piastri.

On the back of avoiding any trouble at the first corner in Monte Carlo, Norris led from start to finish, converting his pole position and also posting the fastest lap of the race.

Although Ferrari's Charles Leclerc - the home favourite - and Piastri finished within four seconds of the winner, the pair were ultimately outclassed.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen can be satisfied with his fourth position having been at a disadvantage in terms of tyres. New regulations meant that three stops needed to be made and the Dutchman only had one set of the hard and mediums left.

The race was ultimately one with minimal incident at the front, and fifth-placed Lewis Hamilton was the only other driver to complete the 78 laps without being lapped.

Racing Bulls duo Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson earned sixth and eighth position respectively, while Esteban Ocon in the Haas secured an impressive seventh spot.

How does the Formula 1 title race look?

Despite winning two fewer races than Piastri, Norris now sits within three points of the Australian in the Championship standings.

Verstappen is now 25 points adrift in third place with Mercedes driver George Russell a mammoth 62 points adrift after finishing in 11th spot.

Leclerc and Hamilton remain fifth and sixth respectively despite their solid weekend, the duo separated by 16 points.
