Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly identified a defender contracted to an MLS club as a potential summer transfer target.
Earlier this week, Leeds thrashed Stoke City by a 6-0 scoreline to ensure that they will be one of two teams - the other being Burnley - that have earned automatic promotion to the Premier League.
While the Lilywhites and Clarets remain in a battle for the Championship title, a certain level of focus will now be turned to their upcoming business in the transfer market.
Although Leeds and many other clubs are likely to target players who are ready to compete in England's top flight, bargains and talent with potential will also be on their radar.
According to Football Insider, Leeds are contemplating whether to acquire the signature of an unknown talent from Vancouver Whitecaps.

Gambia starlet on Leeds, Wolves radar?
The Canadian side currently sit at the top of the Western Conference table with 20 points from their opening nine matches of the season.
However, defender Dembo Saidykhan has been limited to appearances for Whitecaps II in MLS Next Pro, making a total of 18 outings at that level of football.
Saidykhan, who is now 21 years of age, represented Gambia at the Under-20s World Cup in 2023, playing in a team that beat France 2-1 in the group stages and reached the last 16.
He is now in a position where he needs to take the step of his career and secure senior football, the Whitecaps also at a point where they must decide whether they want to extend the centre-back's contract past December 2025.
As such, Leeds, Wolves - as well as Anderlecht and Troyes - are said to be monitoring the situation aware they may be able to negotiate a cut-price fee.

Wolves taking look at Gambian prospects?
Earlier this week, it was claimed that Wolves were targeting another Gambian youngster in Abdoulie Manneh, who is earning regular action at Swedish side Mjallby AIF.
While interest in two Gambian players at the same time may be a coincidence, it would realistically improve Wolves' chances of signing both players if they arrived at Molineux together.
The duo would require time in the Under-21s or out on loan before becoming contenders for a first-team opportunity.
