Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag eases fears that Anthony Martial suffered an injury against Bournemouth.

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag is expecting Anthony Martial to be available for Friday's FA Cup contest with Everton at Old Trafford.

The France international was replaced in the 69th minute of Tuesday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth after a knock, and he headed straight down the tunnel, sparking fears that he had suffered an injury which could keep him on the sidelines.

However, speaking after the three-goal success over the Cherries, Ten Hag said that the forward "will be fine" for the team's next match against Frank Lampard's side.

"Yes, I think he will be good," Ten Hag told MUTV. "He will be fine. He continued the game. I hope he will recover overnight and be fresh for Friday."

Martial has had a number of fitness problems this season, spending time on the sidelines with hamstring, Achilles and back injuries.

However, the 27-year-old has scored five goals and registered two assists in 11 appearances in all competitions, including three Premier League strikes in eight outings.

Man United are working to bring another centre-forward to the club this month, as Cristiano Ronaldo's exit at the end of November has left them short of options in a key area.

Marcus Rashford is another option through the middle, and the England international was again on the scoresheet against Bournemouth on Tuesday night.

The 25-year-old has now scored 12 goals and registered four assists in 23 appearances for the 20-time English champions during the 2022-23 campaign.

"I think once again [it was] a great performance [from Rashford]. I said before the season, and I said the same with Anthony Martial," Ten Hag told reporters after the win over Bournemouth.

"Believe in the goal because they will always create chances with their capabilities, with the capabilities of the team because they will create goals for them and they will create opportunities for them and then they have to finish.

"So they must focus from minute one until the last minute and then the chances will come, so then it's up to them.

"I like Reds goals. I am happy with the set-play, we invest a lot in that. It was a great goal from Casemiro but the counter with Luke [Shaw was superb]. It was a good pass from [Alejandro] Garnacho but he [Shaw] set it up by himself by taking it forward.

"He was really dynamic with a lot of speed but also all the offensive players make the right movements and it was a good finish. We are really happy with that. Then the last goal was good also. Good pass from Luke, great movement from Bruno [Fernandes] and then the lay-off."

Man United will be aiming to advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup when they welcome Everton to Old Trafford on Friday night.
