Chelsea are reportedly showing an interest in signing Netherlands Under-21 international Emanuel Emegha from sister club Strasbourg.

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing striker Emanuel Emegha from sister club Strasbourg.

The Blues are expected to sign a new striker this summer, having seen their lack of forward options exposed by injuries to Marc Guiu and Nicolas Jackson.

As a result, Portugal international Pedro Neto has moved away from his usual wide position to operate as centre-forward in Chelsea's last four Premier League games.

Jackson is now set to return to action for Thursday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur, but Chelsea will still be keen to bring in a new striker to compete with the Senegal international from next season.

The Blues are believed to be considering a potential move for Thierno Barry, who currently plays for Jackson's former club Villarreal.

Chelsea eyeing Emegha swoop

Barry is not the only striker on Chelsea's radar, with journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter reporting that they hold an interest in Emegha.

The 22-year-old is under contract with the French side until June 2028 after signing a five-year deal upon his arrival from Sturm Graz in the summer of 2023.

However, that will not dent Chelsea's hopes of landing the striker because any potential negotiations should be relatively smooth between the two sister clubs.

Chelsea and Strasbourg are both owned by Blueco, who bought the Ligue 1 club in 2023, just over a year after they completed a takeover of the Blues.

Who is Emanuel Emegha?

After netting eight league goals in his first season with Strasbourg, Emegha has already gone on to beat that tally in the current campaign, scoring 12 goals in 22 Ligue 1 appearances.

The forward has been in particular fine form in 2025, netting nine goals in 12 top-flight matches since the turn of the year, including an effort in the recent 4-2 home win over Lyon.

According to FBref, Emegha is one of the most efficient scorers in Ligue 1 this season, sitting in third place for non-penalty goals per 90 minutes.

Emegha has also been given the chance to feature in nine games for the Netherlands Under-21 side, scoring three goals in qualifying for the Under-21 European Championship.
