Everton will be looking to end a 29-year winless run in the Premier League when they travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Sunday.

Everton will attempt to end a 29-year winless run when they travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Saturday.

After winning just three matches under Frank Lampard this season, Sean Dyche has managed to instigate an upturn in fortunes since his arrival.

The former Burnley boss has already overseen three wins in his seven games in charge, including a 1-0 victory over Brentford last weekend.

Dwight McNeil's first-minute effort proved to be the winning goal, ensuring that all three of Everton's victories under Dyche have ended in a 1-0 scoreline.

The Toffees, who currently occupy 15th position, still remain firmly in a relegation fight with one point separating them from the bottom three.

If Dyche is to secure a fourth win of his Everton tenure on Saturday, he will need to end a 29-year winless run.

The Toffees have failed to win a top-flight away game against Chelsea since a Paul Rideout goal guided them to a narrow 1-0 victory in November 1994.

Everton held Chelsea to a respectable 1-1 draw in their most recent away trip to Stamford Bridge in December 2021.

Despite picking up a point, the result extended Everton's winless run in Premier League away games against Chelsea to 27 matches, with 15 of those meetings ending in defeat.

The Toffees have also struggled in their recent trips to the English capital, after failing to record a victory in their previous 11 Premier League away matches against London sides.

Having failed to score in their away meetings with Arsenal, West Ham United, Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur this season, the Toffees could go five away games without scoring a league goal in London for the first time since 2005.

Although Everton lost 1-0 when the two sides met at Goodison Park in September, they may take confidence from the fact that they have recorded a victory over Chelsea in each of their last four top-flight campaigns.

As a result, they now have the chance to claim a win against the Blues for a fifth straight season, which is a feat they have not achieved since the 1930s.

The Toffees are still without the services of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Andros Townsend for Saturday's away trip, while Nathan Patterson is a doubt.
