Chelsea injury, suspension list and return dates for Conference League final: Nkunku, Fofana latest

Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Conference League final against Real Betis.

A shot at European silverware awaits Chelsea on Wednesday evening, when the Blues battle Real Betis in the final of the Conference League.

Enzo Maresca's men were considered the overwhelming favourites to take home the trophy at the start of the campaign and are living up to expectations, despite often rotating heavily in the competition.

The result of Wednesday's showdown is not so critical for Chelsea now, as the Blues' 1-0 success over Nottingham Forest on the final day of the Premier League season confirmed their place in next season's Champions League.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's injury and suspension news ahead of the battle with Betis, who saw off Fiorentina to book their ticket to the final in Wroclaw.

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Next season

The luckless Wesley Fofana is currently on his way back from his latest hamstring injury, one that will keep the Frenchman out of action until the start of next season at the earliest.

Christopher Nkunku

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: May 28 (vs. Betis)

Christopher Nkunku was expected to return from an unspecified knock in the clash with Forest, but the Frenchman failed to make the squad, meaning his participation in the final is far from certain.

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Next season

Forgotten man Omari Kellyman confirmed in March that his season was over due to a hamstring injury, and he is instead working to be fit for the start of the 2024-25 campaign.

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: May 28 (vs. Betis)

Aaron Anselmino was on the bench against Manchester United two Fridays ago following a hamstring complaint, but the defender was nowhere to be seen at the City Ground, suggesting that his issue has still not completely healed.
