RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko is one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe, but one Premier League club reportedly 'have little chance' of signing him this summer.

Benjamin Sesko is one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe, but one Premier League club currently 'have little chance' of signing the RB Leipzig star this summer, according to a report.

After starring in Austria with Red Bull Salzburg, Sesko has since elevated his game to new heights in Germany with Leipzig, where he has scored 35 goals in 76 games since joining the club in 2023.

The 21-year-old scored 18 goals in 42 games during his debut campaign at Leipzig when he had to settle for a rotation role, making an impact on several occasions off the substitutes' bench.

This term, Sesko has started 31 of his 34 appearances in all competitions, netting 10 times in the Bundesliga, four goals in the Champions League and three more in as many DFB-Pokal matches.

Although Sesko is under contract at the Red Bull Arena until the summer of 2029, the 6ft 4in Slovenia international has been tipped to leave Leipzig and join a bigger club ahead of next season.

The Premier League is believed to be a viable destination for Sesko, with Sky Deutschland reporter Florian Plettenberg claiming that Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal have all expressed 'concrete interest' in the striker.

Which Premier League clubs are battling for Sesko?

All three English clubs are set to prioritise the addition of a new centre-forward before next season and are believed to be aware of Sesko's 'formally fixed' release clause in his Leipzig contract that could rise to €80m (£66.2m) by the end of this season.

Plettenberg states that Sesko's current release clause stands at around €70m (£57.9m), but it is expected to reach €80m if 'various parameters' including games played, goals and assists increase from now until the end of the campaign.

Another Premier League club who are said to hold an interest in Sesko are Tottenham Hotspur, but Plettenberg states that Ange Postecoglou's side currently have 'little chance' of winning the race for his signature.

Spurs, who sit 13th in the Premier League table and 10 points behind the European positions, will likely target a new centre-forward this summer to provide competition for Dominic Solanke and Richarlison, who have both struggled with injuries throughout this season.

However, further attacking reinforcements on the white side of North London may depend on whether Spurs decide to sign Bayern Munich loanee Mathys Tel on a permanent basis.

Meanwhile, Plettenberg has revealed that the only 'top English club' who are not interested in signing Sesko are Manchester City, which seems to suggest that Premier League champions-elect Liverpool could enter the race to sign the Leipzig striker.
