Barcelona reportedly draw up a shortlist of three potential right-back targets, including Almeria defender Marc Pubill.

Barcelona have reportedly drawn a three-man shortlist of potential right-back targets for next summer's transfer window.

France international Jules Kounde is currently regarded as the club's first-choice right-back option, having made the majority of his 111 Barcelona appearances on the right side of defence.

Kounde has also featured at right-back for all of his 23 appearances under Hansi Flick, contributing to his team's attacking efforts with one goal and three assists.

While he is currently being utilised as a full-back, Kounde was originally recruited as a centre-back when he arrived from Sevilla in the summer of 2022.

Barcelona seemingly view the right-back position as one that is in need of strengthening, especially as Kounde's only natural understudy is 18-year-old Hector Fort.

Barcelona identify three right-back targets

According to SPORT, via 90min, Barcelona are considering three players as their main right-back options, including Almeria's Marc Pubill.

The report claims that Ajax's Devyne Rensch is on their radar, while the Catalan giants are also keen on Monaco defender Vanderson.

Pubill may be plying his trade in the second tier with Almeria, but he was part of the Spanish side that won Olympic gold in the summer.

The 21-year-old has previously played in La Liga for Almeria and Levante, making a total of 34 appearances in the Spanish top flight.

Rensch represents a potential cheap option, with the Dutchman set to become a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Barcelona reportedly scouted Monaco's Vanderson when the two sides face off in the Champions League in September.

Barcelona considering number of left-back options

The Blaugrana are also looking at the possibility of strengthening their left-back options, which include Alejandro Balde and Gerard Martin.

Barcelona were believed to be keeping a close eye on Monaco left-back Caio Henrique as well as Vanderson in September's 2-1 defeat to the Ligue 1 side.

The Catalan giants are also keen on Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies, but his signing-on fee could prove to be a stumbling block even if he becomes a free agent in the summer.

Meanwhile, Barcelona could bolster the left of their defence with an in-house option, with the club keeping tabs on Alex Valle's progress during his loan spell with Celtic.
