Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris says that Harry Kane will remain "professional" amid the ongoing transfer speculation.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has insisted that Harry Kane will remain "professional" amid the speculation surrounding his future.

The 28-year-old is a leading transfer target for Manchester City this summer, and it is thought that the England captain has made it clear to Spurs that he wants to join Pep Guardiola's side.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is allegedly still determined to keep hold of the forward, though, with Kane potentially being made to stay at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for another season.

Spurs will open their 2021-22 Premier League campaign against Man City on Sunday, and Lloris has said that his teammate will continue to be "professional".

"Harry is a professional and he is here with a smile," Lloris told reporters. "There is a situation in the air, we can not hide that, but it belongs to him and the club. I'm just focused on the team, and if the manager needs him he will be professional."

Kane is believed to be available for selection against Man City on Sunday afternoon but could start on the bench, having only just returned to the club at the end of last week.
