Mohamed Salah: 11 all-time records broken by Liverpool legend in phenomenal 2024-25 season

Sports Mole looks at every new record Liverpool's Mohamed Salah set during the 2024-25 campaign, as well as a few he failed to break.

Life without Jurgen Klopp may have started swimmingly for Liverpool - at least in a Premier League sense - but the Reds faithful cannot fathom life without the sensational Mohamed Salah.

Thankfully, the Kop do not have to concern themselves with such hypotheticals for at least another couple of seasons, as Salah said yes to a new two-year contract until 2027 midway through an unprecedented 2024-25 season.

While others in the Liverpool attack often flattered to deceive, Salah consistently terrorised any and every Premier League backline he came up against, helping the Reds take home English top-flight crown number 20 in a campaign of countless individual feats.

Here, Sports Mole provides a comprehensive list of every record Salah broke in the 2024-25 season, as well as those he could not surpass.

Where to start with this one...

Salah was responsible for one goal and two assists in the 5-0 away win at West Ham, which saw him set a new record for the most direct involvements in one month in the Premier League, banking a ridiculous 14 in six games in December.

The Egyptian also registered 30 goal involvements in record time, became the first man to score and assist in eight games in one PL campaign, and becoming the first Liverpool player to net 20 goals in all competitions in eight straight seasons.

Liverpool may have been denied victory in February's 2-2 draw with Aston Villa, but Salah's opener saw the attacker surpass Andy Cole to set a new all-time best for Premier League away goal contributions in a campaign, eclipsing the striker's 21 from the 1993-94 term.

Another game, another goal, another assist. Liverpool's win over Man City in February saw Salah become the first player in Premier League history to score and assist in both games against the title holders in one season.

Additionally, Salah's 16th assist was a new all-time best for Liverpool in the Premier League - overtaking Steve McManaman's 15 from 1995-96 - and he became the first man to register at least 25 Premier League goals and 15 assists in one season.

Just two days after penning his new contract, Salah celebrated in the best way possible, setting up Luis Diaz against West Ham United for his 45th goal contribution of the Premier League season.

Since the tournament shifted to a 38-game format, no player has banked more combined goals and assists, as Salah's 45th saw him leave Erling Haaland (44 in 2022-23) and Thierry Henry (44 in 2002-03) in his wake.

Salah's 29 goals in 2024-25 is only the joint sixth-best in a Premier League season, seven fewer than Haaland's 36 from the 2022-23 season, and also three below his personal best of 32 from the 2017-18 campaign.

The one that he seemed certain to break until the dying embers of the season, Salah's 18 helpers means that Henry and Kevin De Bruyne can still proudly boast the most assists of any player in one Premier League season, banking 20 each in 2002-03 and 2019-20 respectively.

Remarkably, Salah's effort at the Etihad in February was his 16th and last Premier League away goal of the season, meaning he did not set an outright best in the competition, sharing the summit with Kane (16 in 2022-23) and Kevin Phillips (16 in 1999-00).

Had Salah not missed a sitter against Brighton & Hove Albion last Monday, we would be sitting here talking about the electrifying Egyptian contributing to more goals and assists than any other player in any other Premier League campaign.

However, he must share his total of 47 with Andy Cole and Shearer, although the latter two had four more games to hit their milestones during the 1990s.
