Brendan Rodgers says that the Leicester City board and himself remain on "the same page" despite a disappointing start to the new Premier League campaign.

Brendan Rodgers has stated that he continues to receive the full support of the Leicester City board.

The Foxes have endured a desperately poor start to the new Premier League campaign, suffering five successive defeats since beginning the season with a draw at home to Brentford.

The latest setback - away at Brighton & Hove Albion - saw the Seagulls prevail by a 5-2 scoreline, heaping the pressure on the Northern Irishman.

After last weekend's defeat on the South coast, Rodgers insisted that he would not approach the club's hierarchy for a show of faith given their current predicament.

Nevertheless, speaking ahead of Saturday's fixture at home to Aston Villa, Rodgers made a point of saying that the relevant parties remain on "the same page".

Rodgers told reporters: "My career has been built on resilience and it's something you need in this industry. It's not been plain sailing in my career, so the strength is easy to come by. It's not easy, but there's a motivation to get it right.

"Normally what you find when results go against, you can find a level of betrayal, but I've not felt that here. They've all been brilliant in their support. We're all working hard to get back to a consistent. That gives me strength and motivation."

When asked to expand on mentioning the word "betrayal", Rodgers added: "Normally there are conversations that can take place. But not here.

"We're all on the same page. Now it's not going so well, we are still working together."

The 49-year-old is one of the names that have been linked with the vacant position at Brighton & Hove Albion, who are without a head coach after the departure of Graham Potter to Chelsea.

However, Rodgers has strongly indicated that he has no intention of taking on a new challenge away from the King Power Stadium.

Rodgers has been in charge of the East Midlands outfit since February 2019, recording 81 victories and 56 defeats in his 176 matches in charge.
