Wolves vs. West Ham United: Vitor Pereira's bidding to avoid ending 103-year streak in Premier League game

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be looking to avoid ending a 103-year streak when they square off against West Ham United in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be bidding to avoid ending a 103-year streak in Tuesday's Premier League fixture against West Ham United.

The West Midlands outfit are currently one of four teams who are bidding to avoid relegation to the Championship at the end of the season.

As it stands, Wolves hold a nine-point advantage over Ipswich Town and Leicester City in the table, yet they still have to face both teams in the upcoming weeks.

Vitor Pereira will be desperate for his team to extend their recent run of 10 points being accumulated from their last six games in the top flight.

Nevertheless, Wolves will head into the encounter at Molineux looking to avoid setting an unwanted first feat that has lasted for longer than a century.

What streak is on the line?

Wolves hold a dismal recent record against the Hammers, losing seven of the last nine matches that have taken place between the clubs.

Although they have found a way to keep wins ticking over in this fixture at home, Wolves are at risk of losing consecutive home league matches against West Ham for the first time since 1922.

Almost a year to the day, West Ham ran out 2-1 victors at Molineux last season, Lucas Paqueta and James Ward-Prowse scoring in the final 18 minutes to seal a comeback win.

West Ham can also post a fourth successive win over Wolves at a time when Wolves have recorded only two victories in their last eight league games at Molineux.

In total, Wolves have earned just 11 points from 14 home league fixtures during 2024-25, but seven of those points have been with Pereira at the helm.

West Ham improving under Potter

With seven points being collected from a quartet of games against Arsenal, Leicester, Newcastle United and Everton, it is clear that West Ham are improving under Graham Potter.

While just five points have come from their last five away matches, West Ham played Manchester City, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton during that run.

However, West Ham have scored just nine times in as many Premier League games with Potter in charge. The positive is that only 10 goals have been conceded, the joint-fourth best return in the division.

Furthermore, West Ham have conceded just the three goals in the last five matches, and have shipped just four strikes in as many away contests.
