How Paris Saint-Germain could line up against Nice

Sports Mole looks at how Paris Saint-Germain could line up for Wednesday's Ligue 1 clash with Nice at the Parc des Princes.

Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino will be forced into a few changes to his starting XI as he looks to keep up his side's Ligue 1 winning streak during Wednesday evening's clash with Christophe Galtier's Nice.

The hosts currently sit comfortably at the top of the table, with a 12-point gap back to Rennes in second, but lost to Manchester City in the Champions League this time last week.

They will also now be without one third of their MNM attacking trio after Neymar went off injured in Sunday's game against Saint-Etienne and was seen leaving the stadium on crutches.

The Brazilian looks set for another spell on the sidelines with initial estimates indicating something like a six- to eight-week recovery time.

He joins the likes of Mauro Icardi, Ander Herrera, Julian Draxler, Georginio Wijnaldum and Marco Verratti in an increasingly busy treatment room, although most of that list is nearing a return and are scheduled to begin light training at some point during this week.

Neymar's absence will likely see the system shuffled slightly, potentially with what has been a front four switching to a front three consisting of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria.

That would leave space for a more defensive three in midfield, which could be important against a potent Nice side.

Sergio Ramos finally made his long-awaited debut in dark blue against Saint-Etienne, becoming Ligue 1's fifth-oldest debutant in the 21st century, and produced a strong first performance.

Pochettino may choose to reintroduce him gradually after such a lengthy injury, however, and return him to the bench for Wednesday's game.
