Palace are on the brink of suffering an immediate return to the second tier after winning two, drawing three and losing 14 of their 19 WSL matches this season.
The Eagles recorded the second of those two victories in a home game against relegation rivals Aston Villa last month.
However, they have failed to build upon that positive result, going on to lose three consecutive games against Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea by a combined 11-0 scoreline.
Those results ultimately highlighted their weaknesses at both ends of the pitch, given the fact that they are the joint-lowest scorers in the WSL with 15 goals, while they also have the league's worst defensive record with 51 goals conceded.
With seven points separating them from Villa and Leicester City, Leif Smerud's side know that a defeat on Saturday would result in their relegation to the Championship, and a draw would all but confirm their fate due to their inferior goal difference.

In contrast to their hosts, West Ham have proven to be a tough team to beat in recent times, having avoided defeat in each of their last four matches since losing 4-3 to Arsenal at the start of March.
After drawing against Manchester City, the Hammers side went on to record a 2-0 home win over Tottenham Hotspur, before they played out consecutive draws against two teams in the top three.
They followed a 2-2 scoreline against Chelsea with a goalless affair in last Saturday's home clash against Manchester United, leaving them in seventh place and two points adrift of the top half of the table.
Impressively, the hard-fought draw against Man United extended their unbeaten home league run to five matches (W3, D2), meaning that they have now gone over two months with a WSL defeat in front of their own supporters.
They will be desperate to transfer that form on their travels, having failed to win any of their previous 14 WSL away matches (D3, L11).

Palace midfielder Aimee Everett remains unavailable for selection after sustaining a foot injury in February's draw with Brighton.
Defender Allyson Swaby is suspended after being shown a straight red card in the 47th minute of Wednesday's 4-0 defeat to Chelsea.
Aniek Nouwen and Lexi Potter were unable to face their parent club, but the Chelsea loanees will return to the matchday squad for Sunday's crucial fixture.
Meanwhile, West Ham manager Rehanne Skinner is unable to call upon the midfield duo of Jessica Ziu and Kristie Mewis.
After seeing her side produce a resolute display against Man United, Skinner could decide to select an unchanged lineup for Sunday's away trip.
Viviane Asseyi will continue to offer one of the visitors' main attacking threats, having scored six goals and provided five assists in 18 league appearances this season.
Crystal Palace Women possible starting lineup:
Yanez; Sharpe, Nouwen, Gejl, Woodham; Nolan, Cato, Arthur, Weerden; Stengel, Larisey
West Ham United Women possible starting lineup:
Szemik; Li, Tysiak, Zadorsky, Hanshaw; Nystrom, Siren, Gorry, Asseyi; Martinez, Ueki
We say: Crystal Palace Women 1-3 West Ham United Women
With Palace needing a win, they may have to take risks if they are to claim all three points, but that approach could play into West Ham's hands, which is why we believe that the visitors will produce a free-scoring display to clinch a comfortable victory.
