Wolverhampton Wanderers playmaker Pablo Sarabia allegedly agrees terms to sign for a La Liga club during the summer transfer window.

Wolverhampton Wanderers playmaker Pablo Sarabia has reportedly already agreed to leave Molineux this summer.

The Spain international has been at Wolves since January 2023 having initially been signed under the brief reign of Julen Lopetegui.

However, the 32-year-old has since endured a mixed period in the West Midlands, making a total of 43 starts and 25 substitute appearances in all competitions.

One of those latter outings came at the weekend, Sarabia being introduced as a half-time substitute as Wolves earned a 1-1 draw with Everton in the Premier League.

A return of six goals and 11 assists is a respectable return across his Wolves career, yet he has just one strike and one assist to his name from 540 minutes in England's top flight during 2024-25 ahead of his contract expiring in the summer.

Wolves exit inevitable?

According to Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, Sarabia has already agreed to sign for Sevilla at the end of the season.

The report suggests that terms are already in place for the experienced creator to return to his homeland once his contract expires at the end of June.

Although Sarabia has made an appearance at some point in every Premier League game since the turn of the year, Wolves are seemingly content with getting the player's wages off their outgoings.

Sarabia has not played 90 minutes in a single game this season, something that may also have contributed to the alleged decision that a parting of the ways suits all parties.

Nevertheless, with Wolves' position in the Premier League under threat, they are currently unrealistically able to hold any level of negotiations with Sarabia.

A return to familiar surroundings

Sarabia has spent time at six different clubs during his professional career, including the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Sporting Lisbon.

That said, his most productive stint from a numbers perspective came at Sevilla between 2016 and 2019, Sarabia contributing 43 goals and 38 assists from 151 appearances.

Having suffered four defeats in finals during that run, there may be a case of unfinished business, albeit with Sevilla very much in a transitional phase as they bid to progress back up the La Liga table.

Sunday's 1-0 victory at Real Sociedad has moved Garcia Pimienta's side into 10th position, just five points adrift of sixth with 11 matches remaining.
