Jack Grealish will reportedly seek assurances from manager Pep Guardiola over his future at Manchester City ahead of the summer transfer window.

Jack Grealish will reportedly seek assurances from manager Pep Guardiola over his future at Manchester City ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 29-year-old has failed to make the desired impact for the Citizens since playing an integral role in the club's historic 2022-23 treble-winning campaign.

Grealish went through 2024 without netting a single goal in 32 appearances before ending his miserable drought by scoring from the penalty spot in Man City's thumping 8-0 win over Salford City in the FA Cup in January.

Man City's No.10 - a £100m signing from boyhood club Aston Villa in 2021 - has lost his regular starting spot on the left flank under Guardiola, featuring in the first XI just seven times in the Premier League this season.

The England international still has two years remaining on his contract at the Etihad Stadium, but a potential summer exit has been mooted as Man City intend to make significant changes to their senior squad.

Grealish facing uncertain future at Man City

According to Football Insider, Grealish is set for showdown talks with Guardiola to discuss his future at Man City.

The report adds that Grealish remains hopeful of breaking back into Guardiola's first-team plans, but he may have to consider his future if he does not receive positive news from talks held with the Catalan coach.

Since recovering from a minor hip injury in the middle of February, Grealish has been limited to just one start and three substitute outings in Man City's last 11 Premier League games at a time when Guardiola's side are pushing to qualify for next season's Champions League.

January signing Omar Marmoush, Jeremy Doku and occasionally Savinho have all been preferred to operate on the left flank, while Phil Foden began on the left in last weekend's disappointing 0-0 draw with Southampton.

Man City have seemingly opened the door for Grealish to remain at the club as he was one of several players who has been pictured wearing the club's new home kit for the 2025-26 season.

What does the future hold for Grealish?

Grealish has now entered the prime years of his career and must weigh up whether to seek pastures new in search of regular game time or to stick around at the Etihad and fight for his place, despite stern competition for places.

The attacker is currently in danger of being left out of a second successive major international tournament, as he was omitted from Gareth Southgate's England squad for Euro 2024 and is yet to be selected by new boss Thomas Tuchel, who will lead the Three Lions at the 2026 World Cup.

It is understood that former club Aston Villa, as well as Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, all hold an interest in Grealish, but a switch abroad would be his preference if he were to leave Man City, who are reluctant to allow him to join a Premier League rival.

Recent reports claim that Serie A title hopefuls Napoli are tracking Grealish amid growing uncertainty over his future and head coach Antonio Conte is said to be a 'huge fan' of the attacker.

Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan have also been credited with an interest in Grealish, while Saudi Pro League clubs will consider making an approach for the Englishman this summer.
